Restorative yoga is a great way to relax the body and still move the spine giving it more space and ease. This is a relatively simple sequence that requires a bolster or firm pillow. Stay in the pose for any amount of time, I recommend at least 15 minutes. If that feels overwhelming, start small at 5 minutes. Breathe deeply to calm the body and mind. A simple breathing exercise is breath count – breathe in for 4 counts, breathe out for 4 counts. Find a quiet place, set a timer on your phone for each pose and relax and enjoy.
I regularly teach Relax & Restore on Wednesdays at 7:15 pm and Fridays at 7 pm where you will experience poses like these. Sign up for class at Embrace Yoga Studio.
